So I’ve decided to muscle in on The Broke and the Bookish‘s fantastic Top Ten Tuesday meme! This week it’s…
π Top Ten Author Duos You’d LOVE To See Write A Book Together! π
J.R.R Tolkien and J.K.RowlingΒ
The dream team right? I love Rowling’s characterisation and inventiveness and you know Tolkien would nail writing ‘Hogwarts: A History’ and expertly craft the mythology behind House Elves, Merfolk, Centaurs and even the Giant Squid! π
Charlotte, Emily, and Anne BrontΓ«
Keeping it in the family with the BrontΓ«s. Can you imagine Emily’s lyrical writing with Charlotte’s timeless characters and Anne’s supreme story telling? It would be truly magical. Who knows, we could even let Branwell design the cover!
Garth Nix and Suzanne Collins
Β It would be exhilarating to see two of the most compelling and inspirational heroines in YA novels teaming up and bringing down the Capitol or sending ghouls beyond the Ninth Gate armed with their bows and bells! Also you just know Mogget and Buttercup could stir up all kinds of catty chaos. π±
Roald Dahl and Ted Hughes
Β EnvisionΒ it. Their poetry would be spectacular! Dahl’s macabre humour with Hughes’ affinity for the birds and beasts would be steller!
πππ
I’m disappointed I could only think of four this week. Any glaringly obvious pairings you think I’ve missed out on? I’m sure Artemis Fowl would be the perfect pairing for someone. Or would you change any of my pairings above (like Sabriel in Hogwarts?!) Let me know in the comments if you think of any!
Great choices – I would read all of these, but I’d have to start with Tolkein and Rowling! π Here’s my TTT.

Yep, I think Tolkien should come back from the dead and make this happen!

I would definitely recommend Nix, especially if you like the Hunger Games. Sabriel and Lirael (in the first 3 books) are amazing heroines!

no worries, ten or 20 authors in this case is really hard to come up with. Oh, If only Tolkien could write Hogwarts’s History. That would be amazing. Happy reading! Hereβs my TTT https://ireadboooks.wordpress.com/2015/10/13/author-duos-id-like-to-read/

Thanks! I really wracked my brains but couldn’t think of anymore but I’d be happy if someone could make the 4 I have happen! I really hope Rowling writes a Hogwarts: A History like she did with Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beast.

Rowling and Tolkien would be fabulous! I used Tolkien today too but I paired him with someone else … My TTT

I would be seriously interested in a Bronte series collaboration. That would be so intriguing!

Wouldn’t it just? What a shame they all died so young – such a talented family!
